The following gives an idea of the topics that will be covered over the course. It is however not rigid and will very depending upon the needs of those attending.
Who will run the Sessions ?
The sessions will be run by:
> Simon Blackmore - Level 2 Qualified Hockey Coach
> Pat Hine - Level 2 Qualified Hockey Coach
Additional assistance will be provided by other club coaches as required.
Session Aims and Objectives
To give those attending a fun, exercise environment where they will develop in confidence and want to keep playing the game.
There will be re-cap of basis skills but the majority of the activity will centre around small sided games.

Stnadard Outline Programme - which will be expanded to 8 weeks (sometimes simplified for Hockey Walking participants)
• Week 1- Ball carrying to help manoeuvrability, vision and develop comfort on the ball. Speed and change of direction.
• Week 2- Passing, moving the ball by push pass and involve moving ball to target and to other players
• Week 3 – Hitting ball over varying distances and develop technique to include shooting
• Week 4 – Receiving – e.g. receiving from in front, side and behind. Passing practices
• Week 5 - Goal shooting e.g. Straight shot drill with follow up, sweep shot from pass. Cross and shot
• Week 6 - Basic defending e.g. Channelling and engagement, jab tackle and block tackle
