Spa entertained Wolverhampton on Saturday looking to ease their relegation fears and make up ground on Kingsheath and Bromsgrove who are above Spa in the Worcestershire West Midlands Division 1 league.
Droitwich started with a high level of hockey against a strong Wolves side and were leading 2-0 at the break. Spa first goal came courteous of a neat deflection from Stuart Littleton from with in the circle. Droitwich second came soon after, from a skillfull run by Paul Woodward who finished expertly after starting the move in his own half. Paul Woodward added a second of the game andDroitwich third from a low strike at a Penalty Corner which deflected into the roof of the net off a defenders foot on the line.
Hard earned three points and was their second win of the season, leaving Spa only a point behind Kingsheath and a win away from overhauling Bromsgrove and climbing out of the relegation zone.
